The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (K. Donelaičio St. 8), designed by architect Vytautas Landsbergis-Žemkalnis, was the first “home” of the Oak Grove Library. The library has been here since 1950. In 2021, following the reconstruction of the library building at Radastų St. 2, all the main library services were temporarily relocated back to the Old Palace at K. Donelaičio St. 8, where the readers were served until the completion of the modernisation.
Although most of the library services have returned to the reconstructed library building in the Little Oak Grove, K. Donelaičio St. 8 will continue to house the Art and Music Department, the Old and Rare Prints Reading Room, the Kaunas Studies Reading Room, the Old Book Exposition, the Training Room, various exhibitions and events.
