The Oak Grove Library invites you to visit the Kaunas Studies Reading Room, “the most Kaunas-like place in Kaunas”. It has a rich collection of publications about Kaunas and its famous inhabitants, as well as recent books, booklets and other documents about the city’s factories, schools, cultural and other institutions. The reading room offers extensive card catalogues such as “Kaunas (1600–2003)”, “Kaunas Region in the Press (1845–1944)”, and others, containing over 500 000 bibliographic entries that are not available on ibiblioteka.lt.
We also offer virtual informational resources online: electronic guides such as “Kaunas: Dates and Facts”, “Famous People of Kaunas: Commemoration”, various virtual exhibitions, and an educational game “Marks of the Vanished Past”.
The staff of the Kaunas Studies Reading Room provide advice and assistance in accessing various information resources. They also actively collaborate with cultural institutions and experts in history and the arts.
We invite you to discover Kaunas!
