Short Description: The aim of the project is to foster a positive attitude towards reading and to encourage public interest in literature.
“Summer with a Book” is a nationwide reading promotion campaign aimed at participants of all ages, taking place from 1 June to 31 August. Participants are invited to read books based on selected themes and to register them on the website vasarasuknyga.lt.
“A Year with a Book” is a reading promotion initiative under which meetings with reading ambassadors and other activities promoting reading culture are organised across Lithuania, engaging audiences of all ages (including quizzes for school pupils, various social media contests, etc.).
Organisers: Association of County Public Libraries; Association of Lithuanian Municipal Public Libraries; Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania.
Activity Coordinators: Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys and Vilnius County Public Libraries, and the Lithuanian Library for the Blind, together with municipal public libraries across Lithuania.
The Programme is Funded by: The project is part of the Reading Promotion Action Plan for 2025–2027 and is funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania.
