Initiative Description: The Media and Information Literacy Competence Development Programme implemented by libraries in Lithuania aims to strengthen the public’s ability to critically evaluate information, responsibly use media and digital content, recognize disinformation, fake news, and methods of manipulation, and develop skills for safe and ethical participation in the information environment. The programme includes training sessions, educational activities, practical workshops, and consultations for various age groups—from school students to seniors. This initiative seeks to increase society’s resilience to information threats, encourage responsible media use, and strengthen information culture in Lithuania.
