Lithuanian Culture Club “Cultural Bridges” (in English)

Nuo sausio 27 d. į Ąžuolyno biblioteką grįžta lietuvių kultūros klubas „Kultūrų tiltai“ (anglų kalba), kurį šįmet inicijuoja FLEX moksleivių mainų programos alumnė kartu su Kauno Jono Jablonskio gimnazijos Tarptautinio bakalaureato mokinėmis.

Starting from January 27th, the Lithuanian Culture Club „Cultural Bridges” (in English) returns to the Oak Grove Library. The initiative, led by a FLEX exchange program alumna together with International Baccalaureate students from Kaunas Jonas Jablonskis Gymnasium, aims to connect people of different nationalities who wish to get acquainted with both traditional and contemporary Lithuanian culture, while providing an opportunity for everyone to share their countries’ traditions.

This year at the „Cultural Bridges” Club we will discuss not only Lithuanian history and culture but also engaging international events and themes – sports, music, food, and more. Through various discussions, the club aims to create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, fostering new international friendships. It’s a great opportunity to make new international connections, share ideas, and build cultural bridges together.

The club is open to everyone who wants to get to know Lithuania better, improve their English and Lithuanian language skills, and spend quality time in an international environment. Don’t forget to bring your friends – the more, the merrier!

The „Cultural Bridges” Club meetings will take place in English once a month in the Oak Hall (Radastų St. 2, 2nd floor), starting at 6.00 PM.

Meeting dates:

  • January 27th
  • February 24th
  • March 24th
  • April 28th
  • May 19th

About the FLEX Program:

The FLEX one-year exchange program was established by the United States Congress in 1992. This fully funded opportunity, designed for high school students coming to the USA, promotes international relations and strengthens ties between America and neighboring states. FLEX program participants gain the opportunity not only to experience the US culture but also to introduce American citizens to their own countries. Scholarship recipients become members of a US host family for a year, attend American schools, and upon returning, become program alumni who continue international activities and initiate events promoting internationalism in their local communities.

During the event, photographs and/or videos will be taken. Please be informed that you may appear in event photos or videos, which may be published on various media platforms.
