GENIE International Project Partners Meeting in Ljubljana

Genie project

Between 2024 and 2026 Oak Grove Library is participating in the international project “GENIE: Generative AI for Inclusive Education and Empowerment”. The aim of the project is to develop an innovative set of methodological tools for adult learners and andragogue educators, facilitating everyday life through the use of generative artificial intelligence in professional and personal settings.

On 23-24 April 2025, the library team, together with partners from Lithuania (Robotics School), Estonia, Slovenia and Italy, participated in the project partner meeting in Ljubljana, Slovenia. During the meeting, important decisions were taken on the development of the educational material: structure, sub-topics, further workflow and methods were discussed.

The main topics of the meeting were:

  • Development of Educational Materials. The first day of the meeting focused on the selection of innovative, adaptable learning tools to facilitate the learning process for both professionals in training and adult learners.
  • Development of Handbook for specialists. During the meeting, the partners agreed on the need to focus and clarify the structure, process and content of the training to be delivered before final decisions on the support material for the specialists are taken. Once the format of the training has been defined, the handbook will be adapted to provide the most specific guidance for the organisation of the training.
  • Project management and follow-up. The second day of the meeting focused on the project management processes and the training to be held in September 2025 in Kaunas, at the Oak Grove Library. The project partners have divided the responsibilities to prepare the training material according to the different topics and modules. The forthcoming training will be designed to train the partners in order to be ready to pass on the knowledge on all topics to the professionals in their countries.
  • Cooperation and impact. The project partners have also discussed strategies to engage adult learners and to equip professionals with the skills to use generative AI in their daily lives.
