Lithuanian Culture Club “Cultural Bridges” (in English)

klubas

Starting from 23 January, a new Lithuanian culture club “Cultural Bridges” (in English) will launch at the Oak Grove library. The club is initiated by alumni of the FLEX student exchange program. This club aims to bring together young people from different nationalities who are interested in learning about both traditional and modern Lithuanian culture, being provided an opportunity to share their own cultural traditions as well.

During the meetings, we will explore history, language, music, and other aspects of Lithuania, while also engaging in discussions about various cultures and fostering a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. It’s a great opportunity to make new international connections, share ideas, and build cultural bridges together.

The club is open to anyone who wants to learn more about Lithuania, practise their Lithuanian and English, and have a great time in an international environment. Don’t forget to bring your friends – the more cultures, the better!

The “Cultural Bridges” club meetings will be held in English once a month in the Oak Hall (Radastų St. 2, 2nd floor) starting at 18.00

Meeting dates:
● 20 February
● 20 March
● 17 April
● 22 May

About the FLEX program:

The FLEX program was established by the United States Congress in 1992. This one-year exchange program is fully funded and designed for high school students traveling to the United States. The goal of the program is to promote mutual understanding between the citizens of the U.S. and the program’s participating countries, as students learn about life in the U.S. while introducing Americans to their own countries. Each scholarship recipient becomes a member of a U.S. host family for one year and attends an American high school. Upon returning to Lithuania, students become program alumni and often organise events promoting international understanding within their local communities.
